60 years of fundraising at School
On 13 March, the School hosted a very special birthday party, to recognise the remarkable acheivements of the Friends of Wellington School who have raised about £1 million pounds for the School over the last 60 years. Former members of staff, governors and parents joined with the Headmasters, current committee members and trustees, and we were delighted so many were able to come "back to School" for the day. Over the years, funding has been raised for such things as the Science Block, land for the Prep School and Forest School, a huge amount of sport's and music equipment and even for one of the new Chapel windows.
Toasts and thanks were offererd by the current Chairman of the Friends - Simon Cross (Richards '71) - and by the Headmaster of the Senior School, Henry Price,. And one of our younger OWs - Kate Michaels (Class of 2017) - provided the wonderful cakes. Glyn Meredith, previous Chairman of the Friends, joined Henry and Simon in making the first cut.
