OWA Sports Day
We had a glorious day of sun and sport at School on 3 June 2018 for the OWA Sports Day, which reflected all that is good within the Wellington School community of past and current pupils, parents, staff, family and friends. A tennis tournament was organised by Simon Cross (Richard's '73), with parents and students competing for the Family Day medal, while the Wellington Fox's Hockey Club held their annual game against the OWs, organised by current member of staff Gary Beasley together with Rachel Debenham, Gillard's '92. And after all of that running around in the sun, drinks were served by the Chairwoman of the OWA Committee, Caroline Heaton (Beech '85), together with Treasurer Mike Rogers (Oak '82) and member of the Committee Matt Colman (Hardwick '87). And the OWA Committee also organised a delicious BBQ, served by the Schools wonderful catering team. To top it all, a Lancaster bomber flew over the School in the afternoon, in support of Wellington's Street Fair also on Sunday, which was raising money for the town's carnival in the autumn.
The Wellington Fox's and the OWA team - many of our OWs play for the town hockey club which trains at School.
Enjoying an afternoon of sun, drinks and delicious BBQ food.
