OWA Golf Day 2019
On Friday 31st May thirteen OWs joined in the school golf day held at the glorious Taunton & Pickerage Golf Club – renowned for is rolling fairways and undulating greens it was in immaculate condition. There was a great mixture of generations playing from the 50’s through to the present day. Through the good offices of the school Bursar, Tim Williams, there were numerous sponsors for prizes on various holes crowned with a superb “Halfway House” with liquid and solid sustenance, all provide by the school catering team.
This event has, in the past, been well supported by OW’s who find a relaxing round of golf and meeting old friends a convivial experience which is now enhanced by joining the event with the school. This gives the opportunity to mix with staff, current pupils and sponsors alike without losing the ambiance of friendship previously enjoyed so much.
This year’s winner of the OWA President’s Trophy was John Cottrell (Hardwick 1956-1960) and other OWs present on the day were Bill Cranston, Derek Hannam, Roger Persey, Alan Baker, Carl Puzey, Gerald Webber, Mike Fuller, Thomas Bordier, Steve Drayner, Clive Warner, Andrew Taylor and Graham Nye.
Keep an eye on the Events pages of the OWA web site for details of next year’s golf day.
