OWA and Wellington School Foundation Day
On a fabulous sunny day in half-term over 70 golfers attended the Foundation Golf Day to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Foundation. Held at Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club the stunning panoramic views provided a wonderful backdrop to the challenging course. To help the golf along the School catering department provided homemade sausage rolls and muffins at the 9th hole. As the tired golfers returned to the club house they were handed glasses of cider kindly provided by Harry’s Cider. The evening was rounded off with a carvery meal and various prizes. The Foundation is very grateful to the local firms who sponsored the day. A decade ago, the Wellington School Foundation was established by a visionary group that understood the financial challenge facing certain parents wanting to give their children the chance of an excellent education at Wellington School. The aim of the Foundation is to provide financial assistance to deserving families. Each year it gives life-changing help to a small number of children as well as safeguarding the education of several pupils whose parents have been affected by challenging circumstances. We hope that through the continuing support of the Wellington School community we can offer more opportunities to broaden access and change futures.
