Reunion Weekend 2018
The November Reunion started on a very wet and windy Friday night with a few intrepid souls braving the weather to meet in pubs across Wellington. This year's Annual General Meeting on Saturday was significant as we said goodbye to a couple of long-standing members of the Committee who have worked tirelessly for the organisation. Our current Chair, Caroline Heaton, (Beech '83) who has supported the OWA in various roles over the years, including President, Secretary and latterly Chair, and Paul Farmer (Willows '83) who has given of his time and expertise for 15 years. Congratulations to Kate Evans (Beech ’93) who was elected President and John Darvall (Darks ’85) who was elected as Chairman. The Dinner on Saturday evening was CCF themed, thanks must go to Lt Col Peter Galley for lending us the CCF Colours, Silverware, and the Drums from the Corps of Drums, which helped, create a wonderful atmosphere. Eighty people packed into the Upper Dining Hall, with representative OWs from the 1950s right up to those who left last year. It was a truly memorable evening.Remembrance Sunday was marked by a Chapel Service in the morning and the traditional Wellington Remembrance Parade in the afternoon.
